You’ll never guess the first non-Google device that’s getting Android 5.0

Monster specs for LG’s 2015 flagship phone may have just leaked

Everyone with an Android device is waiting anxiously for their turn to download Android 5.0 Lollipop, but it looks like LG G3 owners will be the first to get their chance later this week. LG announced on Sunday that the G3 would be the very first phone to receive the 5.0 update, which should begin rolling out in Poland this week and other markets in the near future.

The recently released G3 is getting the update first, but LG plans to reveal a full Android 5.0 release schedule for its other devices soon.

“LG is absolutely committed to giving our customers the best mobile experiences available and bringing Android Lollipop to G3 owners as soon as possible is a top priority,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG. “The new features and improvements in Android 5.0 will bring a whole new user experience to the G3 and make it even better than it already is.”

If you don’t own a G3, don’t worry — most of the other major players in the industry have announced their intentions to update their devices as soon as possible. If you’re looking for all the Sony, HTC and Motorola phones that will be receiving the update, be sure to check out our post from last month detailing the list of the devices.
