A big rig crashed through a guard rail on Interstate 255 and came within 50 yards of slamming into a family's home. It happened shortly after midnight in Cahokia as the semi was traveling south on Interstate 255. The 18-wheeler first clipped a highway crew truck working overnight. One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in an overnight accident in North St. Louis County. The accident happened around 11:15pm on Lucas and Hunt Road between West Florissant Road and Interstate 70. A Washington County great-great grandfather is in hiding out of fear for his life. James Litherland was wounded in September while standing on his own property near Potosi. The Major Case Squad was called to investigate a homicide in East St. Louis Monday night, less than 48 hours after Saturday's triple murder case there. When the FDIC announced a bank failure in north St. Louis Friday, a piece of history was lost. Gateway Bank is now "Central Bank of Kansas City". Gateway was a 44 year old institution near the corner of Union and Natural Bridge. It was the first minority-owned bank in Missouri. Fallen Sergeant Christopher Cooper returned home Monday morning The soldier received full honors when his body was brought to Lambert Airport. Cooper was serving in Babil Province Iraq when he was killed. He first joined the Marine Corps in 2000. About a million Maclaren strollers sold by Target and Babies "R" Us are being recalled after 12 reports of children having their fingertips amputated by a hinge mechanism. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the recall includes nine models of Chinese-made single and double umbrella Maclaren strollers, which have been sold around the country since 1999. Police in St. Louis are searching for several suspects they say are responsible for an early morning home invasion and shooting. Police have a suspect under arrest who is accused of gunning down 3 women inside a car parked at an East St. Louis gas pump on Saturday night. Police say the suspect was taken into custody in St. Louis City. They are not identifying him until charges are filed but say he knew the victims. The teenager has multiple sclerosis, and a sudden rainstorm washed away his bridge to the outside world. Everything has changed for Cody Lott since last Friday. St. Louis Park Rangers confiscate clothing and even medicine from two homeless men, then proceeding to throw them away. The mayor is apologizing, and homeless providers are asking questions. Lately, a group of homeless people have been camping at the Interco Park, a small piece of ground in the city between the Post Dispatch and the St. Patrick's Center. The problem is that it's illegal.
