Ameren UE repair crews fought strong wind gusts and dropping temperatures Wednesday as they worked to restore downed power lines and blown switches. The utility reported some forty thousand customers in the bi-state region lost power at some point as the major storm blew across town. By seven p.m. most of the homes and businesses had power again. A north St. Louis nightclub owner is shot and robbed Tuesday night. It happened around closing time at Spruills nightclub on North Jefferson. The owner was shot in the arm. A Fenton man gives his heart to a female inmate he met on-line only to possibly get taken by her. Authorities now consider her the prime suspect in a theft from the man's home. 38-year old convict, Dana Lewis, met the man, through the website, Writeaprisoner.com, while she was in a Michigan prison for larceny, aka felony stealing from a person. A Metro East man is being questioned after firefighters are called to his house in the 4200 block of baker in Centreville. Police report four children, ages two to seven, were home alone when the fire started. One of them is hospitalized for smoke inhalation. Sunday, St. Clair County police received a 911 call of a "rape in progress" in Lebanon, IL.
