Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies are looking for two carjackers who fired shots at them in West Fresno County.   Deputies received reports of a stolen car in the town of San Joaquin around 4:30 a.m. Monday morning. Fire damaged a home in Northeast Fresno after gasoline fumes in the garage erupted. The homeowner was draining gasoline from his boat in the garage when the fumes were ignited by the pilot light in the water heater. A man was hit by a passing train at Blackstone and McKinley in Fresno. The accident Sunday night as the man was pushing a shopping cart on the train tracks. The man, believed to be a transient, was taken to the hospital with head injuries but is expected to survive. Full Story »

Saint Nick delivered gifts to young burn survivors during an annual holiday party. More than 400 families and friends  from all over the state came together for the party. Burn survivors and their families had a day filled with games, arts and crafts and the opportunity to meet Santa. Each burn survivor received a gift. Fresno police questioned a man in a deadly stabbing Saturday night. The stabbing happened around 5:30 p.m. at Clark and Grant. Police said two men got into an argument and one apparently stabbed the other. The victim was found lying in an alley nearby. He later died at the hospital. Saturday evening, Fresno City Fire was called out to three fires within a half an hour. All fires were at apartment complexes. The first fire broke out just after 7:00 p.m. at Balch and Cedar in Central Fresno. A little over 15 minutes later another fire was reported at Cedar and Butler. The wet weather played a role in a crash that led to an explosion at a gas station at Blackstone and Gettysburg in Fresno on Friday night. Witnesses said a young male heading southbound on Gettysburg lost control of his car and crashed into a gas pump causing it to explode and fly through the air on fire. A Fresno family continued to clean up their home on Friday night after a suspected drunk driver put a damper on their holidays. Police arrested 22-year-old Matthew Billingsley around 1am on Friday near Friant and Copper. There is new information on the arrest of former Fresno City College Quarterback Emmanuel Lewis. He reportedly sold drugs during the entire 2009 football season when he was the Ram's starting quarterback. Clovis Police made the undercover deals with Lewis for four months. CBS 47 is teaming up with the Fresno Rescue Mission for the 12/12 at 12 drive. The Mission needs everything from food, to toys and household items. The Fresno Rescue Mission not only provides food and overnight shelter for the homeless, they also have a program for recovering addicts. The wet weather did not stop a holiday celebration in Fresno's Tower District on Friday night. As the rain poured down, Olive Avenue lit up. People paid $10 to dedicate a light bulb to a loved one. There was a job summit in downtown Fresno Thursday, hosted by Mayor Ashley Swearengin. Members of the community, including small business owners and banks, met to talk about what could be done to help support economic and job growth in the area. The Fresno Police Department announced on Friday that they have arrests two suspects believed to be in involved in a recent shooting at a party where twelve people were injured. Concerns over the safety of our nation's beef supply could impact hundreds of Valley workers. A Connecticut congresswoman wants to temporarily shut down Beef Packers incorporated in Fresno. The facility has recalled its beef twice this year; concerned it was contaminated with salmonella.
