  • Deputies: No foul play in shootings

    Around 4:15 p.m. Friday, McDowell County sheriff's deputies were called to the Timber Road residence of 26-year-old Brandon James "B.J." Brown. A witness at the house told authorities Brown was walking through the kitchen and dropped a .22-caliber handgun he was carrying, according to Capt. Vic Hollifield.
