  • Jesus is Lord Academy Opens in Brookfield

    It is not often that a new school opens in Linn County, especially not one that is an actual Kindergarten through 12th grade school.   • Reynolds Honored by Rotary District Governor

    Let it be said that 397 pots of eight varieties of poinsettias is not an easy thing to accomplish in the middle of Missouri. Joey Blackburn, Agriculture Teacher at Marceline R-5 is especially proud of his Floriculture Class.   • DNR Gives Go-ahead to Kansas Court Sewer Project

    The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has completed its required environmental impact study of the North Kansas Court addition in Marceline and concluded the sewer project “will not result in any significant adverse impacts” on the land, air or plant and animal life there.   • Bond Issue Passes for R-5 District

    The Marceline R-5 Bond Issue has passed.  This bond, which refinances the District’s existing debt without raising taxes, saw both a good turn out and a lot of support from the community.  All in all, the bond passed by a total margin of 585 – 126. Full Story »
