  • Report says trauma less likely to kill

    Calaveras County residents were half as likely to die following car crashes, gunshot wounds and other traumatic injuries last year than five years ago. In 2008, there were 68 deaths from trauma across the six counties, including Calaveras, covered by the Mountain Valley Emergency Medical Services Agency, compared with 116 in 2004, according to a new agency report.   • Tuesday fires damage two homes in Tuolumne County

    Two house fires broke out Tuesday in Tuolumne County. Fire burned a car port and part of the interior of the home in Jamestown Tuesday afternoon, Cal Fire officials said.
