  • Rolla EEZ public hearing draws large crowd of vocal opposition

  • No parking ordinance is approved; pool will not reopen until 2011

    An ordinance was passed Monday by the St. James City Council to make the east side of North Springfield Road between James Boulevard and St. Ann Avene to be a no-parking zone. The area runs between a residential neighborhood and Tacony Manufacturing and is marked with no parking signs, although the city code does not specify the area as a no parking zone. Full Story »

  • City bidding procedures are updated by new ordinance

    The St. James City Council passed a motion on November 2 that will amend the Procurement Policy in the city code regarding competitive-bidding procedures. After letting the city attorney look at the amended document for nearly two weeks, a final copy was approved and will bring city code and state law into agreement. Full Story »

  • Elementary improvements coming

    Voters in the St. James School District overwhelmingly approved a $3.7 million bond issue to finance improvements to Lucy Wortham James Elementary School during Tuesday’s special election. Nearly 75 percent of the voters said yes to the measure. Full Story »
