  • Testimony in Sentencing for FLDS Member

    A jury that convicted a member of the Utah-based FLDS Church will begin deliberating his sentence. After a day-long hearing on Monday that included hours of testimony, a judge set closing arguments and deliberations on Tuesday in the case of Raymond Jessop.   • Provo Man Charged With Neglect of Disabled Child

    A Provo man has been charged with one count of third-degree felony abuse or neglect of a disabled child after authorities say he didn't take action to help a dying 7-month-old boy. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that 40-year-old Alec Nicolaysen appeared Monday in 4th District Court. Provo police say he was baby sitting the boy while his parents went shopping on Oct. 31.   • Utahns Line Up for H1N1 Vaccination Tickets

    Another week brings another round of H1N1 vaccinations for people around the state. In Davis County they are lining up to get their hands on the 6,000 vaccines available there. Instead of mass vaccinations, Utah's health department is instead offering tickets for guaranteed vaccinations. However, there is limited space and reservations are only for the most at risk groups.   • I-80 East and Pleasant Grove Bridge Freeway Projects Coming to Close

    A major milestone this weekend -- UDOT completed lane striping along I-80 between 1300 East and State Street. Now, all lanes are open for evening commuters.     The FBI has announced a new special agent in charge of the agency's Salt Lake City division. The FBI announced Monday that James McTighe (mc-TIE') will replace Timothy J.   • Utah School Band that Lost Teacher on Win Streak

    The celebrated Utah High School marching band that lost a teacher in a bus crash last month is on a winning streak. The American Fork High School marching band won the state championship on Friday, then took first place in a western regional competition on Saturday.
