On Wednesday of last week, 23-year-old Joseph Soqui brandished a semi-automatic pistol, later determined to be a BB gun, and committed a carjacking, kidnapping and robbery near the intersection of Campus Way and Crandall.   • Arrest Made In Paso Robles Shooting

    Paso Robles -- A woman was shot in the head and survived late Friday night. At about 11:50, the Paso Robles Police Department responded to the home on Via Promesa where the shooting occurred.     Santa Maria -- A home in Santa Maria went ablaze Tuesday morning. At about 9 o’clock the city fire department responded to the house on Western Ave. When they got there, crews saw light smoke coming from a window. They were able to control the fire in about an hour. Full Story »

  • Paso Water Bill Increase Voted Down

    Paso Robles -- The proposal to increase water rates in Paso Robles was voted down yesterday. About 55% of the votes cast were against the measure. According to the County Clerk-Recorder’s unofficial election results about 37% of the registered voters cast their ballot. Full Story »

  • Dead Fisherman Found Off Morro Bay

    Morro Bay -- A fisherman was found dead yesterday tied to a buoy. According to the coroner’s office, 47-year-old David Kubiak of Los Osos appeared to have fallen from his houseboat, Axel, while fishing some time Monday night.
