San Luis Obispo -- The sentencing for Patrick Wollet has been delayed again. Wollet, 20 was convicted last June of killing Joshua Houlgate in 2007.His partner in the crime, Chad Westbrook, has already been sentenced. Wollet’s next hearing is Jan 25. San Luis Obispo -- The man beaten in Bubble Gum Alley is out of intensive care. 21-year-old Nathan Moore was found unconscious in downtown San Luis Obispo and was admitted to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in late October with a major head injury. Full Story »
Paso Robles -- The man who allegedly shot a woman in Paso late Friday night is an assistant football coach at Paso Robles High School. 26-year-old Steven Smith is accused of shooting a 34-year-old woman at about 11:50 Friday night. Full Story »
San Luis Obispo -- The man who stole a woman’s car in SLO is behind bars. On Wednesday of last week, 23-year-old Joseph Soqui brandished a semi-automatic pistol, later determined to be a BB gun, and committed a carjacking, kidnapping and robbery near the intersection of Campus Way and Crandall. Paso Robles -- A woman was shot in the head and survived late Friday night. At about 11:50, the Paso Robles Police Department responded to the home on Via Promesa where the shooting occurred. When they got there they found the 34-year-old victim had been shot several times but was conscious. Full Story »
Five Cities -- Lock up your yard equipment. According to the SLO County Sheriff’s Department, eleven burglaries of mowers, blowers, chainsaws and other implements in the five-cities area have occurred recently. Full Story »
San Luis Obispo -- A woman can’t drive her car for awhile; it was stolen. 23-year-old Yi Tak Choi was driving near the intersection of Campus Way and Crandall at about 8:45 Wednesday evening. She stopped at the stop sign when 23-year-old Ryan Soqui knocked on her passenger side window. Full Story »
San Luis Obispo -- A mountain lion was spotted in downtown SLO yesterday afternoon. Just before 3 o’clock the lion was seen climbing a tree at the intersection of Mission and Chorro. Acording to the SLO PD, it was seen holding a small piglet in its mouth. Full Story »
Carrizo Plains -- One of the three proposed solar plants in Carrizo Plains won’t be built. First Solar purchased land that was intended for a 177-megawatt solar thermal power plan. This will allow for a reconfiguration of First Solar’s own planned power plant. Full Story »
Santa Maria -- A home in Santa Maria went ablaze Tuesday morning. At about 9 o’clock the city fire department responded to the house on Western Ave. When they got there, crews saw light smoke coming from a window. They were able to control the fire in about an hour. Full Story »
San Luis Obispo -- The police want to get a hold of a woman who took a picture of the man who punched a teen last month in downtown SLO. In early October a 25-30 year-old man punched a teen girl in the face, and then walked off. Full Story »
Paso Robles -- The proposal to increase water rates in Paso Robles was voted down yesterday. About 55% of the votes cast were against the measure. According to the County Clerk-Recorder’s unofficial election results about 37% of the registered voters cast their ballot. Full Story »
Morro Bay -- A fisherman was found dead yesterday tied to a buoy. According to the coroner’s office, 47-year-old David Kubiak of Los Osos appeared to have fallen from his houseboat, Axel, while fishing some time Monday night. He attempted to secure himself to a fishing buoy after falling. Full Story »
