Amid Layoffs, Group Calls For DISD To Strike

In the wake of budget problems, a Hispanic activist group is calling for the superintendent's resignation. The group is also calling for a strike on October 29. They've asked teachers not to go to work and students not to go to school.

    About 100 cats were seized from a southeast Dallas home Wednesday. They were found living without proper food, water or care. The Society For The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Dallas County Constable seized the animals from a house on the 10,000 block of Chacota.
