It looks like Apple’s spring event is taking place on March 15th

While we still don’t know for sure when Apple will have its big spring product launch, a report from the reliable Mark Gurman says that the company is looking to have its special press event on March 15th. Gurman cautions that this date could still change, however, because the event is still a month and a half away.

Based on earlier reports, we expect Apple to unveil a new 4-inch iPhone model called the iPhone 5se, a third-generation iPad Air and some new Apple Watch models. The iPhone 5se is expected to feature a faster A9 processor and an M9 chip that has support for always-on Siri activation so you’ll be able to activate the personal assistant using solely your voice. The phone is expected to have an NFC sensor that will give it access to Apple Pay.

The iPad Air 3, meanwhile, has been rumored to feature a 4K display, a four-speaker design, LED flash support and possible support for the Apple Pencil stylus that debuted with last year’s iPad Pro. Gurman also reported last month that the Apple Watch is expected to get an update consisting of “multiple new colors for the rubber Sport Bands, additional colors for the line of Hermes bands, a black version of the Milanese Loop, and an additional band line made out of a new material.”

In all, this isn’t the biggest or most exciting sounding Apple event out there, but then again the company usually saves its major product launches for the fall.
