Louis C.K. Roots for Hillary: ‘We Need a Tough B**** Mother’

On Tuesday night’s Conan, Louis C.K. laid out his reasoning for being “excited” to vote for Hillary Clinton. “I think she’s great. It’s not a lesser-of-two-evils thing. … She’s super-smart and I’d take her over anybody.” The comedian told host Conan O’Brien that his endorsement is “stupid to say because I’m a performer and I’ll split my audience in half,” but his main reasoning is that we’ve had enough “fathers of our country”: He wants “a first mother, a mom. … A mom feeds you and teaches you. … Moms get s*** done.”

Conan is broadcasting this week from New York City’s Apollo Theater, and Louis C.K. raised the roof with his effusive praise for Clinton. C.K. said he has “no problem with anyone voting for Donald Trump if that’s your ideology,” although he said he distrusts Trump in one key area: “He can’t be criticized. … This guy, every time he’s criticized, everything stops, and he makes everybody pay.” This seems inefficient to C.K.

The comedian stated it bluntly: “We need a tough bitch mother who nobody likes” because that’s the sort of person who’ll fight hard and accomplish things. Summing up, the comedian said: “If you vote for Hillary, you’re a grown-up. If you vote for Trump, you’re a sucker. If you don’t vote for anybody, you’re an a**hole.”

By the way, Conan’s shows from the Apollo have been really excellent so far; check them out.

Conan airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on TBS.
