Premier Lifestyle Brand Moves Headquarters to Historic Los Angeles Arts District

Located at 540 S. Santa Fe Avenue, the new office building is set between Los Angeles’ Historic 4th and 6th Street Bridges, a vibrant and burgenoning area in the city. Lucky Brand's relocation will also bring hundreds of new jobs to Downtown Los Angeles, as noted by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa: "I am thrilled to welcome Lucky Brand to the 'Creative Capital of the World.' Lucky Brand's new headquarters in downtown L.A. will bring approximately 250 jobs to the City. Lucky Brand Executive Vice President and Creative Director Patrick Wade oversaw the design of the new corporate headquarters from the ground up. Inspired by 1940s architecture, the new space evokes design elements of the art deco era such as bricked walls, tiled flooring and custom two-tone lighting fixtures. “Our new building celebrates the Lucky lifestyle,” says Mr. Wade. “We designed the space to encourage collaboration and spark creativity on every level.”
Upon entering the two-story space, patterned tile and leather-finished concrete flooring instantly provide both an inspirational and fresh atmosphere. An arched doorway welcomes visitors to the palm-lined building. The 46,200-square-foot open layout features a boulevard of iron-framed operable windows that unfold from each room into the next, providing an abundance of natural light. Brick and woven raffia walls also give visitors a first-hand experience of the Lucky aesthetic. An outside patio lounge provides employees additional space for meetings, and an opportunity to take advantage of the California weather.
For Wade, every design element was carefully considered. From the administrative area to the creative office environments, it was important that every space reflected Lucky Brand's point of view. Chestnut furniture and industrial fixtures provide points of interest thoughout the space. Custom-designed workspaces with leather blotter inlays are paired with natural canvas partitions that offer both privacy and space for inspiration.
On the second level, sections of hand-finished, wood-stained ebony floors break up stained concrete and sisal, giving an unusual and thoughtful dimension to the flooring, while hand-painted rugs lend texture to the creative space.
The new executive offices feature ribbed glass doors—a nod to historical Los Angeles interiors—and are outfitted with crown molding and decorative tin ceilings that replicate Lucky Brand’s current store design. Bookshelves and tackable walls live in the art and merchandising rooms, emphasizing functionality while supporting creativity.
