Lyft review

Lyft is a unique service that instantly pairs you with a driver in your area for moderately cheaper transportation than the standard taxi. This application is easy to use because of its straight-up display and offers many support features. But finding a driver is not always as easy as you'd desire.

Pros

Great design: Lyft is fully integrated with Google Maps and does not crowd its screens with many buttons or text. The bare minimum design approach works wonderfully and displays the "Request Lyft" button in plain sight.

Quick processing: This application runs smoothly, and we noted that all information, whether from credit card or Facebook account, is processed with speed. We easily contacted a Lyft driver seconds after requesting a ride. You will enjoy that Lyft displays all drivers' exact locations and estimated distances upon initial contact.

Friendly, growing service: This service is still expanding, which is demonstrated by the version 1.5.0 update that made Lyft available in 64 cities, and we were surprised that Lyft is offering free rides for new users. Our offer was 50 free rides for fifteen days. This kindness, combined with the helpful support features, make Lyft a winning application.

Cons

Hiring issues: Some difficulty was had in hiring drivers during busy periods, but this was rare enough to not be a major downside. Lyft does not display the number of current drivers in your area until you make a request, and they are not active in all areas yet.

Bottom Line

The Lyft service is innovative and efficient, but you may have to wait until it reaches your area. We suggest Lyft adds more cities and catches up to Uber's 120 supported cities. If you need a quick ride, we recommend using Lyft, though.
