Magnitude 5.0 earthquake strikes southern Taiwan: USGS

(Reuters) - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.0 struck 27 miles (43.5 km) east north east of Kao-Hsiung, Taiwan, on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The quake had a depth of 6.2 miles (10 km), USGS said. (Editing by Richard Chang)
