Magnitude-6.0 quake near Tokyo; trains pause
TOKYO (AP) — A magnitude-6.0 earthquake has struck near Tokyo, but no tsunami warning was issued.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake hit at 2018 GMT, or early Monday morning local time.
The earthquake was located 61 miles (98 kilometers) south of Tokyo and at a depth of 96 miles.
Japan's Kyodo News service reports that all of Tokyo's subway systems were briefly stopped after the quake, and it cites operator Tokyo Metro as saying delays were just 10 minutes.
