Major new Nexus 5 leak claims specs are at ‘sub-flagship’ level

The 2015 Nexus 5 is likely going to be an exciting device for Android fans looking to run Marshmallow as soon as possible after release and without any kind of OEM and/or carrier customization. After a variety of leaks pretty much revealed everything there is to know about the new Google handset, a new report seems to reinforce them, but it suggests that the new Nexus handset will be a “sub-flagship” device.

That’s not a bad thing, considering what the new Nexus 5 is expected to pack under the hood. In fact, this might be further indication that the newest Nexus won’t burn a hole in your wallet.

A reliable source talked to Android Police and described the basic specs for the upcoming Nexus 5 handset and it matches exactly what recent leaks have claimed.

The phone will supposedly have a 5.2-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and Andreno 418 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage, 12.3-megapixel camera, 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, USB Type-C connector (either USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 connectivity), 2,700 mAh battery and Android 6.0.

The phone will come in three colors, including black, white and blue, and is expected to launch by the end of September. Pricing details for the new Nexus 5 are yet to leak, though, but these sub-flagship specs seem to indicate your budget won’t take a massive hit this year.
