A man died after jumping into the East River near a Brooklyn park to retrieve a ball Wednesday night, cops said.

Police found the victim, 36, in the water off Domino Park in Williamsburg about 6:40 p.m.

The NYPD’s Harbor Unit took him to the Brooklyn Navy Yard ferry dock and tried to revive him, with medics rushing him to Brooklyn Hospital Center, but he couldn’t be saved.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the man drowned or had a medical episode in the water, cops said. An autopsy will determine his cause of death.

Police have not yet released the man’s name.
