Man arrested for human trafficking off Fillmore St.

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A man was arrested on Thursday, April 18 on numerous outstanding warrants as well as Human Trafficking and Pimping of a woman during a multi-unit operation, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

CSPD said the Metro Vice Unit was investigating the human trafficking and pimping of a woman, and multiple units responded to the 3000 block of North Chestnut Street, north of Fillmore Street, around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The operation included the Tactical Enforcement Unit, K9 Unit, Drone Unit, Metro Intelligence, Metro Narcotics, CSPD Patrol, Victims Assistance Unit, and Homeland Security Investigations.

At the time of the response, CSPD said the suspect, Rudy Levi Hurtado, was reported to have five felony warrants and was known to be violent. He was also reported to be armed with a handgun.

“As a result of coordinated teamwork and the highly professional and skilled officers and Agents involved, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

CSPD said the trafficking victim was contacted by the Victim’s Assistance Unit for services and care.
