Hooters waitresses are used to being gawked at — since they get paid for serving men chicken wings while wearing hot pants and everything — but one man went a step too far when he secretly videotaped Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant contestants changing clothes at the competition in Miami Saturday night.
Police officers were called to the tony Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel to deal with one incident when one of the contestants “frantically” ran up to the officers saying she had discovered a hidden camera, the Miami Herald reports.
Officers found a video camera tucked inside a backpack in a hotel conference room that had been turned into a makeshift dressing room. One of the officers confiscated the camera, after viewing the tape and seeing the suspect setting up his camera.
The suspect, Ronald Keith Rolfes of Georgia, was traveling with a group from the Waterbabies Bikini swimsuit company. Waterbabies owner Michael Chu told law enforcement that Rolfes is not an employee, but frequently pays his own way to attend company events such as the Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant, which should have raised at least one red flag.
After he was arrested on one count of video voyeurism, Rolfes reportedly admitted to the crime and gave perhaps the most honest confession of all time to a male police officer: “Man to man, I did it because I’ve never had a girlfriend.”
