Man Charged with Decapitating Grandmother and Her Husbandin Oklahoma City Daycare Center

Police have arrested a 20-year-old Oklahoma man for allegedly shooting and then beheading his grandmother and her husband in their home, which doubled as a daycare center.

According to a statement from the Oklahoma City Police Department obtained by PEOPLE, Quinton Laster was arrested at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday during a welfare check at the home of Laster's grandmother, Sharon Reed, 59, and her 78-year-old husband, James Reed.

Officers took Laster into custody right outside a daycare center for children that operated out of his grandmother's house.

The statement explains that police entered Reed's residence and soon after discovered two headless bodies. According to the police department statement, Laster allegedly shot both of his victims before beheading them. A motive has not been disclosed.

While police searched Reed's property, they wandered into an attached garage where they found three scared children, huddled together. None of the kids were harmed during Wednesday's violence, according to police.

Laster is charged with two counts of murder and is being held without bail. Court records accessed Wednesday did not identify if Laster has a defense attorney.
