Man dead after vehicle crashes into utility pole on Route 422

A man is dead after his vehicle crashed into a utility pole in Indiana County.

Pennsylvania state police say Richard Toy, 54, was driving in his 2014 Honda Civic on Route 422 in Armstrong Township when he experienced a medical emergency.

They say he crashed into the guard rail and rode against it before his car hit a utility pole head-on.

He was taken to a local medical center and was pronounced dead.
