Man dies after barrier crash at busy junction

A 59-year-old driver has died after crashing into a barrier on Leeds' Armley Gyratory.

The man was trying to exit the junction onto Wellington Road when the silver Peugeot 307 he was driving crashed at around 10:30 BST on Tuesday, West Yorkshire Police said.

He is thought to have suffered a medical episode.

The man was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

It is believed the car had collided with a Peugeot Partner van on the A58 prior to it entering the Armley Gyratory, officers said.

Police have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.
