Man Facing Car Theft Charges Drives Stolen Car to Police Station
Florida’s St. Petersburg police say an 18-year-old picked went to pick up court papers regarding a previous auto theft case at a police station while driving a stolen car. He managed to outdo the woman who was found in the trunk of the car she stole.
According to police, Carnell Eugene Butler’s documents for his June auto theft arrest were found in, what else, a stolen car—an Infiniti—on Sunday. When authorities contacted Butler he asked to pick up the documents.
He was arrested as soon as he reached headquarters. Police searched Butler and found on him keys to a Hyundai Sonata, which was reportedly found a block away. The Sonata had also been reported stolen.
That’s three cases of grand theft auto that Butler is now facing charges for. He’s being held without bond.
