Man who died after he was found floating off Clearwater Beach identified
CLEARWATER — A man was found unresponsive in the water off northern Clearwater Beach Sunday and died at a local hospital, police said.
A Clearwater Fire and Rescue crew was called to the 1000 block of Eldorado Avenue where the man was floating in the water about 6 p.m., according to Clearwater police. The man was brought ashore and taken to Morton Plant Hospital, where was pronounced dead, police said.
Investigators identified the man as Douglas Wright, 60, of Clearwater.
