    Man gets suspended death penalty over tainted food

    BEIJING (AP) — A report says a man has received a suspended death sentence for making and selling a chemical that makes pork leaner but is harmful to humans. Tainted pork is among a string of recent food scandals in China.

    The official Xinhua News Agency said a court in central Henan province sentenced Liu Xiang to death with a two-year reprieve for making and dealing in clenbuterol.

    The drug converts fat to muscle quickly in pigs, so it makes more profit for farmers.

    But China banns it because the drug can cause nausea, dizziness, headaches and heart palpitations in humans.

    The court jailed four other people to terms from nine years to a life sentence.

      A "suspended death sentence" is supposed to be one where the criminal is suspended by the neck with a rope tied to a tree.

      i look at it as another form of plastic parts that break - must invent meat that produces more profit to feed more plastic break parts imported to usa since you owe us way mo you pay

      I love it. Think about all that stuff, people put in our food to follow the health madness. Veal with antibiotics, that makes it nice and bright colored, but it also helps for sure when you need antibiotics to fight a disease. Or aspartam in sodas because sugar is so bad. But aspartam is causing cancer, sugar isn't. And of cause, since someone found out, fluor is a good thing, we have fluor without end in our drinking water which causes now several kinds of health problems. But that's all the usual problem: People jump on a band wagon and become mindless followers of a hype and after this line is crossed, it's all about health (regardless how many die), all about political correctness (regardless how far it is from reality) all about THE CAUSE (regardless what evil has to be done for it).
