Man jailed for 17 years for historic sex offences
A man has been jailed for 17 years after being convicted of sexually abusing two children 20 years ago.
Samuel Anifaloba, 49, carried out the attacks at an address in Rainham, Kent, between 2004 and 2006.
He was sentenced on Tuesday at Maidstone Crown Court, after being found guilty of rape and six other sexual offences.
He was also given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and will be on the Sex Offenders' Register for life.
The offences were not reported to Kent Police until April 2018, with Anifaloba arrested in June of that year.
Investigating officer Luke Grimmett said: ‘Anifaloba subjected each child to vile abuse and I want to commend their bravery in coming forward to report his crimes.
"His victims are now adults and it took them a long time to come to terms with what he did and for them to feel confident in approaching Kent Police.
"His actions have left a lasting impact but I hope they can now move forward in the knowledge that their actions have ensured he is unable to cause any further harm."
