Man killed in crash in Indio on Interstate 10 involving semi-truck

A man was killed in a traffic collision along Interstate 10 in Indio on Tuesday night.

The crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle was reported at 11:42 p.m. along the eastbound side of Interstate 10 west of Monroe Street, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire. The car was on fire and firefighters performed an extrication.

The name of the person who died has not been released, but, according to the Riverside County coroner's office, he was an adult male. He was pronounced dead at 12:28 a.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters said one other person with minor injuries was transported to a hospital.
