Paul Kevin Curtis, the man arrested for allegedly sending ricin-covered letters to President Obama and Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker, is a Guinness World Record holder, Elvis impersonator and martial artist.
The Corinth, Miss., resident is a prolific celebrity impersonator who has everyone from Elvis and Johnny Cash to Prince and Kenny Chesney in his repertoire.
Mississippi’s Clarion Ledger dug up some background info on the alleged perpetrator and discovered a treasure trove of Internet-worthy information.
Curtis holds a Guinness World Record for “creating the 1st brother Duo Tribute to Elvis Act in 2002.”
According to GigSalad.com, a site used to book entertainers, Curtis can do “70 of the biggest names in music history.” On his ReverbNation.com page it says that Curtis is a “7 time world finalist in the largest Elvis Impersonator’s contest in the world.”
The day of the Boston Marathon bombings that killed three and injured over 150, Curtis posted a message on his Facebook page — where his username is elvisguy4u — about how “We have let God down.”
Curtis wrote [sic throughout], ”heart breaking. I have an 8 year old son with the smile of an angel. This world is not what it used to be and the hopes of all are not what they ‘USED’ to be.”
He continued, “We have let God down. We removed prayer from schools in 62….we have staged wars simply for profits in oil and drugs….we have lied our way from the capitol to the pulpit. We the people should be ashamed. I weep for the future of our children. God bless.”
It is unclear if the bombings had anything to do with Curtis’ alleged letters to government officials.
The day after the bombings, Curtis allegedly sent letters to Wicker, Obama and Lee County Justice Court Judge Sadie Holland. He reportedly signed each letter, “I am KC and I approve this message.”
Here are some videos of Curtis from his YouTube page doing impressions of Elvis, Bon Jovi and Roy Orbison.
