Man seeks court ouster of Toronto mayor Rob Ford; claims conflict of interest

TORONTO - A Toronto man is asking the courts to turf Mayor Rob Ford from office.

Paul Magder alleges Ford has violated conflict-of-interest rules.

The claim, which has yet to be proven or tested in court, accuses Ford of taking part in a council debate and vote on an issue of financial benefit to him.

The integrity commissioner had ordered the mayor to pay money back amid accusations that Ford misused city resources to solicit donations for his private football foundation.

Magder has high-profile lawyer Clayton Ruby pursuing the action.

There was no immediate response from the mayor.
