Marcel the Shell is back to charm your pants off with new video

Marcel the Shell fans rejoice!

The one-eyed, two-shoed talking tiny creature is back with a new video.

Marcel charmed the Internet in 2010 with his first video, “Marcel the Shell With Shoes On.” In 2011, there was the cleverly named follow-up, “Marcel the Shell With Shoes On, Two.”

And now, we have — wait for it — “Marcel the Shell With Shoes On, Three.”

The video series is created by Dean Fleischer-Camp and "Parks and Recreation" actress Jenny Slate, who came up with the idea after sharing a hotel room with five other people to attend a wedding.

“I had been doing this little voice over the weekend, so I started talking like Marcel: [in a squeaky, slightly forlorn voice] ‘I’m just feeling really squished here,’” she told FilmmakerMagazine.com.

But Marcel isn't just an adorable creature with a cute voice.

"I was depressed,” Slate continued. “We were at a time in our lives when whatever we made would have a layer of gravity. And the real magic of [the movie] to me is that it has this layer of gravity, but it’s still about an adorable little shell.”

That forlorn voice hit a nerve — the three videos have been watched a total of 31,584,255 times. In each video, we hear our hero Marcel explain how he survives life challenges despite his peewee size. “I’m afraid to drink soda, because I’m afraid the bubbles will make me float up to the ceiling,” he explains to an off-screen male voice. All the while, he distills self-affirming missives that all should heed: “Guess why I smile a lot? Because it’s worth it.”
