Mark Cuban to Distribute Andrew Breitbart's 'Occupy' Documentary

In case you were worried you would never get to see the documentary Andrew Breitbart made about Occupy Wall Street, you can rest easy: Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner are on the case. Magnet Releasing, the small distribution company owned by Dallas Maverick's and HDTV owner Mark Cuban (pictured above) along with entertainment entrepreneur Todd Wagner, announced on Monday it had bought the rights to the film, Occupy Unmasked, produced by the late punk rock Republican Breitbart and the nonprofit Citizens United. Magnet plans to release the film, which was directed by Stephen K. Bannon (whose credits include producing The Undefeated, all about Sarah Palin), before this November's election.

"This film is controversial, and that’s exactly the reason we want to ensure it can find its audience prior to the November elections," Cuban said in the press release announcing the distribution deal. Cuban, an investor of libertarian bent, has donated money to both Republicans and Democrats, but most recently attended a $30,000-per-plate fundraiser for President Barack Obama. Breitbart-founded Big Hollywood describes him as "one of the most openly liberal Hollywood players."

According to Magnet's press release, Occupy Unmasked "takes viewers into the Occupy Wall Street camps around the country in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Portland, Denver and Oakland for an up-close look at what’s happened there and who’s at the heart of the movement, documenting criminal activity and raw brutality in the camps – much of which has not been reported by the mainstream media."

The trailer's up at YouTube, but until Monday it was unclear when or if anybody would get to see the whole thing.
