Marquez secures pole for British MotoGP

SILVERSTONE, England (AP) — MotoGP world championship leader Marc Marquez will start the British Grand Prix from pole position as he looks for an 11th victory in 12 races this season.

The 21-year-old Spaniard was fastest in qualifying at Silverstone on his Honda with a time of 2 minutes, 0.829 seconds, securing his 10th pole of 2014.

Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso was second, 0.336 secs behind, and Jorge Lorenzo on a Yahama will be third on the grid.

Marquez, who was beaten for the first time this year in the Czech Republic in the last race, recovered after crashing in morning practice.
