Matt Lauer Pranks Ellen DeGeneres With Fake Plumbing Billboards (Video)

Matt Lauer is doing everything he can to launch Ellen DeGeneres‘ plumbing career.

DeGeneres got quite the surprise on her drive to work Friday, as “The Today Show” host paid to have four billboards put up around Los Angeles featuring DeGeneres sporting a prominent plumber’s crack and a phone number for her “plumbing service.”

“The joke’s on you because I’m a good plumber,” DeGeneres responded in a preview of Monday’s episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

She then played a video with her and a producer meeting near one of the billboards to snap a few pictures. She started scheming immediately, telling her partner in crime, “It’s payback time.” She also took joy in the fact that Lauer couldn’t afford a larger billboard.

DeGeneres called the phone number on the billboard for the first time in front of her audience. Lauer had arranged for a pre-recorded message to play for anyone who called, along with a special message just for DeGeneres at the end.

This is the latest in a series of pranks between Lauer and DeGeneres. She famously super-imposed his head onto the body of a man in S&M gear in a video of Lauer’s interview with the stars of “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Lauer then struck back when he filled DeGeneres’ car with ping pong balls.
