Maya Rudolph-Martin Short Variety Show Officially Set at NBC

NBC has officially picked up to series the long-in-the-works variety show hosted by “Saturday Night Live” alums Maya Rudolph and Martin Short.

Tentatively titled “Maya and Marty,” the show will be produced by “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels. The number of episodes, premiere date and format have not yet been decided.

Rudolph, who left NBC’s live sketch series in 2007, previously hosted the one-off variety show “The Maya Rudolph Show” on the network in 2014, a test run for a possible series.

The duo then hosted the 40th anniversary episode of “SNL” together last February, which was followed by news that Short had been added as co-host to Rudolph’s long-in-development weekly show.
