    Mayor: 2 shot at Conn. hospital, suspect arrested

    NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) — Two people were shot at a rehabilitation hospital on Wednesday, and someone believed to be an employee was arrested, the mayor and other authorities said.

    Mayor Timothy O'Brien said in an interview with WVIT-TV that he didn't know the conditions of the people who were shot.

    A helicopter with a search light flew over the hospital, which was surrounded by police cars and ambulances. SWAT teams with rifles walked along the streets outside the building in New Britain, a city of about 75,000 residents just southwest of the state capital, Hartford.

    The shootings took place at the Hospital for Special Care, a private nonprofit facility specializing in rehabilitation and long-term acute care.

    Police said the suspect was arrested outside a home about a mile away, the Hartford Courant reported.

    A hospital spokeswoman said she didn't have details of the shooting. A New Britain police dispatcher said no one was available to comment.

      I am absolutely amazed at the great deal of press "gunshot" cases get. I am so impressed with the Obama administration's stance on "gun control". However, to make this simplistically plausible so that even the students taught in union run schools may understand, why not outlaw everything that may kill someone. Let us start with alcohol, cigarettes, over eating, ice picks and all eating utensils, rubber bands,(swallow, aspirate and die), belts (used for hanging), all pills( may overdose), cars,( many more deaths from autos than in defending one's self in home invasion settings) (Dr Petit's case inCT is a very eyeopening case. Had he had a weapon, our tax dollars would not be now being wasted on two sexual deviates. ON it goes but it does not serve the purpose of Mr BO and the other liberal brain dead liberals who have in their "gunsights" our liberties. Wake up America. You are being duped again. Common sense is in the target sites of the liberal monsters who wish to be president for life and destroy our rights to be Americans. Let us have a cheer for all of the drunk drivers in our country who have killed innocent people and are left do do it again. Why??? The alcohol lobby supports the liberal administrations and of course, the politicians support the alcohol lobby. Where would Mary Jo be if Ted Kennedy had not had too much to drink? Probably happily married with a family. Just one example of limo liberals' thinking.
