Md.: Registration for biotech credits postponed

BALTIMORE (AP) — Online registration for Maryland's biotech tax credits has been postponed because of Friday's storms and ensuing power outages.

The Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development says online registration, scheduled to begin Monday, has been rescheduled for 9 a.m. July 9.

The program, the Biotechnology Investment Incentive Tax Credit, encourages investors to provide early-stage funding to qualified, privately held Maryland biotechnology companies.

Registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Investors will learn within 30 days if their prospective investment may be eligible for the credit.
