    MDPA Announces Keynote Speakers for Inaugural Childhood Obesity Marketing Conference

    MDPA to hold its first ever Conference on Communicating Childhood Obesity Prevention and Policy.

    Marketing Disease Prevention in America (MDPA), a leading conference, training and publishing company for disease prevention marketing, announced its full agenda for the inaugural Conference on Communicating Childhood Obesity Prevention and Policy, March 20-21, 2012, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Silver Spring, Maryland. Confirmed speakers include: Dr. William Dietz, Director, Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity, CDC; Dr. Robert Post, Deputy Director, Center for Nutrition Policy & Promotion, USDA; Jenelle Krishnamoorthy, Health Policy Director, US Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee; Dr. Jay Bernhardt, Director, Center for Digital Health & Wellness, University of Florida; Former Director, CDC National Center for Health Marketing; David Kleeman, President, American Center for Children and Media; and Marlene B. Schwartz, PhD, Deputy Director, Yale Rudd Center.

    The MDPA Conference on Communicating Childhood Obesity Prevention and Policy is designed to bring together a wide spectrum of industries and organizations to discuss the childhood obesity epidemic. The goal of MDPA is to unite the top minds from the pharmaceutical, over-the-counter, medical device, and diet and exercise industries together with established academics, non-profit organizations, and government agencies to discuss and determine the most ethical and effective practices in communicating childhood obesity prevention.

    The MDPA Conference on Communicating Childhood Obesity Prevention and Policy will also feature the inaugural MDPA Hall of Fame. The MDPA Hall of Fame is designed to honor those who have made substantial strides in helping to improve efforts in health through better efforts in marketing, communication, and improving awareness of important health issues. The focus of those inducted in this year’s class will be based on their contributions to fighting the epidemic of childhood obesity. The inductees will be honored at a luncheon to take place on the last day of the conference, March 21st.

    About Marketing Disease Prevention + Awareness

    Marketing Disease Prevention + Awareness began as an offshoot of the established healthcare marketing conference company, DTC Perspectives Inc. in 2009. The goal of the new venture is to discuss how different preventable diseases plaguing the United States can be treated and prevented and how to best communicate these options.
