    Media group urges UN probe of strike on Libya TV

    LONDON (AP) — An international media safety group has joined calls Friday for the United Nations to investigate NATO's bombing of Libyan television, which reportedly killed 3 people and injured 15.

    The International News Safety Institute (INSI) asked U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to determine whether last week's airstrike amounted to a breech of a 2006 Security Council resolution that bans attacks on journalists.

    Libyan officials said Saturday's airstrikes on the state television's satellite transmitters killed three journalists and injured 15 other people.

    On Wednesday, the International Federation of Journalists also condemned the bombing and called for a probe.

    NATO has said the bombing was in line with its U.N. mandate authorizing airstrikes to protect the civilian population.

    But INSI director Rodent Pincer said such attacks could not be excused "on the basis that you disagree with the point of view of the news organizations."

    "NATO forces in Libya are acting under a Security Counsel mandate to protect civilians and journalists are civilians," he said.

      Ban ki moon is UN puppet, NATO is UN, how can a slave probe his master, NATO has killed more people than Gaddafi soldiers, desperates to see Gaddafi go, they bomb innocent civilian they supposed to protect, they claim tv station help Gaddafi, what about million civilian they cut off from outside world. Ban Ki Moon wants his job not what Nato did or who nato kill. NATO is after Libya oil, it is good for NATO to take out the Tv so when they start stealing the oil the citizen will not know what is going on. Syrians are been shot to death every day, where is UN and the so call civilian protectors call NATO. the world is not blind.

      In 1999 in Yugoslavia(Serbia) the national television station was bombed by NATO.15 newsreporters were killed,just google RTS NATO bombing.

      And nobody from NATO was held liable for that criminal act.The same will happen in Libya.

      But if someone bombed BBC or Fox news and killed just one worker,the media would mention it until the end of time.

      "Educated fools from uneducated schools" the so called leaders of this country are intent on pulling the biggest theft in history, along with the Europeans, They/we are stealing hundreds of billions of $$ from the Libyan people, using thugs and gangsters like themselves. --and is there oil involved???Their stupidity and arrogance will pull only themselves and us and the good ole US of A down.
