Members of Congress, others can't resist #SOTU selfies

Even the U.S. Capitol isn’t immune to the sway of the selfie. Ahead of President Obama’s State of the Union address Tuesday night, first lady Michelle Obama tweeted a picture of White House guests Anthony Mendez and Malik Bryant taken by the Twitter Mirror, the selfie-snapping tablet often seen on Hollywood red carpets.

The Twitter Mirror was brought to the State of the Union as part of a joint effort by the White House and Twitter, and the first lady and others were reportedly expected to snap a few behind-the-scenes images. But not all of Tuesday night’s SOTU selfies were taken with the Twitter Mirror. Some members of Congress threw House rules to the wind and struck a pose from inside the chamber.

Not everyone managed to get away with it, though.
