    Merger to Create Largest Storage Auction Forum

    StorageAuctionBoards.com will become the largest online storage auction discussion forum after merging users from acquired websites.

    StorageAuctionBoards.com is set to become the largest online storage auction forum once it completes a project involving the migration of users from websites it has acquired. Operating in its third year, the storage auction website provides news, guides, and discussion for both novice and experienced buyers.

    The contents of self storage units are often sold at auction when a lessee fails to make the agreed-upon rental payment, a process that has received a lot of attention over the past year as several popular reality-based television shows detailing their operation have been produced. It’s estimated that over 10,000 storage auctions take place in the United States each day.

    Forum-based websites like StorageAuctionBoards.com provide a platform for facilitating discussion of auction procedures, dates, locations, news, and more. “People love hearing stories about finds or experiences had at storage auctions,” said Hunter Carr, the website’s administrator. “Those who are new to storage auctions can spend hours reading about the exploits of experienced bidders,” said Carr.

    StorageAuctionBoards.com staff scours the Internet, mailing lists, and RSS feeds every week to post updated storage auction news items that may then be commented on by forum members. “Becoming a forum member is free and gives you access to view and post in all areas of our website, including our marketplace, where you can get advice for selling the items you’ve acquired at storage auctions,” said Carr.

    The website is also a major contributor to the Storage Auctions Guide, a free resource that offers comprehensive insight into the operation of storage auctions. The guide was created with input from veteran buyers, auctioneers, and storage facility managers.

    StorageAuctionBoards.com expects to complete synchronization of their databases to include the new members by mid-March. When the process is complete, their forum will have over 3,000 members. The migration is being managed by Advanced Web, a Virginia web design firm.
