MGM TV Taps Lindsay Sloane to Expand Development Activity

MGM Television is expanding its content team with the appointment of Lindsay Sloane as exec VP of production and development.

Sloane will focus on generating new projects for the Lion, reporting to Steve Stark, president of production and development for MGM’s TV Group. She comes to the company from TriStar Prods., where she spent the past two years working with the banner’s former chief, Tom Rothman, to shepherd TV series projects. Rothman was promoted in February to chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s motion picture group.

Stark said Sloane was recruited to help MGM navigate a period of “tremendous growth” in demand for series.

“Our television business is thriving as we continue to develop high-quality content that appeals to the global audience,” Stark said. “Lindsay, through her strong relationships and keen instinct for quality programming, will be a wonderful addition to our incredible team of executives.”

MGM TV’s most high-profile series at present is FX’s anthology-drama spin on “Fargo,” which returns for its second season Oct. 12. The studio is also the home of History’s “Vikings” and MTV’s “Teen Wolf.”

In addition to Sloane’s appointment, MGM TV has promoted Max Kisbye to senior VP of TV production and development. Kisbye will continue to oversee “Fargo” for the studio, reporting to Stark. MGM has upped Nathan Taylor to director of development and Rob Hochberg from assistant to creative exec.

Before TriStar, Sloane was a senior VP of development at Doug Liman’s Hypnotic shingle and served as a co-exec producer on the USA Network drama “Covert Affairs.” She also served a hitch as co-head of drama development at the Fox network.
