Michael Kors Holdings expands board to 9 members, adds Tomlin and Korologos

NEW YORK (AP) -- Luxury clothing and accessories company Michael Kors Holdings Ltd. has named Ann McLaughlin Korologos and Jean Tomlin as directors, expanding its board's size to nine members.

Korologos is a former U.S. Secretary of Labor who is also a director for AMR Corp., Kellogg Co., Host Hotels & Resorts Inc., Harman International Industries Inc. and Vulcan Materials Co. She is the former chairman of Rand Corp.

Tomlin is the director of human resources of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. She was also the director of human resources for British retailer Marks & Spencer PLC and has held human resources management positions at Prudential PLC and Ford Motor Co. in the U.K.

The appointments are effective on Monday.

Last month Michael Kors Holdings reported that its fiscal third-quarter profit rose fourfold, with revenue surging 71 percent.

Michael Kors Holdings is named for its famous U.S. designer but is based in Hong Kong. The company went public in December 2011 at $20 per share. For the year to date, the stock is up 12 percent.

Its shares rose 10 cents to $57.48 in premarket trading Monday.
