NEW YORK (AP) — Mick Jagger has started making funeral arrangements for fashion designer and celebrity stylist L'Wren (luh-REN') Scott, his longtime girlfriend.

His representative said in a statement Thursday that Jagger is in Los Angeles to be with his daughters Karis, Elizabeth, Georgia May and Jade, and his son, James.

Scott died Monday at age 49. The New York City medical examiner's office has ruled her death was a suicide.

The statement asked for privacy for Jagger and his family "during this very difficult time."

The 70-year-old Rolling Stones frontman called Scott his "lover and best friend" in a Facebook tribute and said he was struggling to come to grips with her death.

Scott had been Jagger's companion since 2001.

The Stones canceled their seven-date tour of Australia and New Zealand after Scott's death.
