WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) — Phil Mickelson is likely getting another weekend off at the Greenbrier Classic.

Mickelson shot a 2-under-par 68 on Friday morning and is at 2 over for the tournament in West Virginia. That likely won't be enough to advance him to Saturday's third round on the Old White TPC course. The projected cut is 1 under.

It would mark the first time in his career that Mickelson has missed three straight cuts in one tournament. He didn't advance to weekend play at the Greenbrier Classic in 2011 or 2012.

Mickelson was playing in his first tournament since a runner-up finish to Justin Rose at the U.S. Open.

Johnson Wagner and Tommy Gainey entered the day tied for the lead at 8 under and have afternoon tee times.
