Microsoft just announced some great free Xbox games for November – here are the details

The Xbox One holiday release schedule is officially in full swing. Sunset Overdrive, one of the console’s biggest exclusives so far, launched to great reviews just days ago, and now Microsoft is preparing its latest selection of Games with Gold titles for the month of November. As always, the free Xbox One title will be available all month, but the two Xbox 360 games will trade out halfway through the month.

Following up on the success of the ID@Xbox game Chariot in October, Microsoft is reaching back into its indie program to find another gem for Xbox One owners. This time around it’s Volgarr the Viking, a 16-bit hack-and-slash platformer that was originally funded on Kickstarter back in 2012. Two years later, it’s making its way to the Xbox One.

Subscribers to Xbox Live Gold with an Xbox 360 have nearly $35 of saving to look forward to with Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise from November 1st-15th and Red Faction: Guerrilla from November 16th-30th.

Trouble in Paradise is the sequel to the last-gen smash hit that turned piñatas into adorable pets. Seriously, they’re irresistible.

Red Faction: Guerrilla is also a sequel of sorts, set in the same universe as the cult classic shooter Red Faction. The hook in Guerrilla is that almost everything in the game’s open world in destructible. If you see a building, you can usually blow it up.

Free Games with Gold, Sunset Overdrive, Halo: The Master Chief Collection and a $50 price cut on every console and console bundle — it’s a good time to be an Xbox fan.
