Microsoft will take its sweet time launching the Xbox One in new markets

Ditching Kinect may have saved the Xbox One from falling permanently behind the PS4

Microsoft on Wednesday announced new Xbox One launch plans for many international markets on top of the 13 countries the console is already available in, but the company is not exactly in a hurry to release its console in those markets. Microsoft said that 26 additional countries will get the Xbox One, but that will happen only at some point in September. “We’ll have much more to share at a local level towards the end of April, so stay tuned,” the company wrote.

Additionally, the company revealed that users spend an average of five hours per day on the Xbox One, with the highest number of hours logged on Xbox Live since the launch of the Xbox One having been registered last week, likely after the Titanfall game release.

These are the markets getting the console less than six months from now: Argentina, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, India, Israel, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and UAE.
