One of the most successful reality television series for Bravo is The Real Housewives franchise. The series started off with The Real Housewives of Orange County, and since then we have seen the drama of "Real Housewives" from New York, Beverly Hills, Miami, New Jersey, Washington and Atlanta.
Well now it looks like we might be getting a reality television series along the same lines, but instead of millions of viewers tuning in to see the extravagant lifestyles of rich women, a casting company is hoping that these same viewers will want to tune in to see the lifestyles of military wives. While the show is not going to be showing any mansions or women going on shopping sprees, one thing is for sure; that there is going to be a lot of drama.
Doron Ofir is looking for military wives who are residing in the San Diego area to cast this show that is going to be titled Military Wives of San Diego. If the right television station picks it up, this could be a hit show, because it would be bringing together the best of two other hit television series, one being The Real Housewives, and the other being Army Wives.
Both of these shows currently bring in a lot of viewers, with the Army Wives most recent season opener bringing in 3.6 million viewers, and the most recent franchise of The Real Housewives Series, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills bringing in 2.2 million viewers with its season opener.
And why might you ask would the same women that watch these shows be interested in seeing what military wives do on a daily basis? The answer is simple. Military wives are relatable because they are average women who are forced, because of their husband's job, to do extraordinary things.
And yes, there is plenty of drama to be had from a bunch of women living on a military base. I'm sure that this show is going to bring in tons of viewers, and I know a lot of wives who would be eager to sign up and share their stories with viewers each week. The real question here is; why didn't anybody think of this television show idea before? We will all have to wait and see if this show is a big hit or not.
