The Florida Department of Transportation issued a an alert May 1 that a bridge over Florida's Turnpike is now open to traffic in Lake County's section of the turnpike.

Florida's Turnpike Enterprise has opened the newly reconstructed Scrub Jay Lane bridge over Florida's Turnpike at State Road 91.

The bridge closed on April 10, 2023, for removal and reconstruction and was completed in April of this year, a press release said.

"This work is part of the widening of Florida's Turnpike/SR 91 from Minneola/Hancock Road to north of O'Brien Road," a turnpike spokesperson said in the release. "The bridge reconstruction was necessary to accommodate the Florida's Turnpike widening, from four to eight lanes."
