The tide of public opinion is turning further against the parents of missing Kansas City, Mo., baby Lisa Irwin. Those parents, Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin, say Bradley put the baby to bed at 10:30 p.m. last Monday and Irwin discovered her missing from her crib when he returned from work about 4 a.m. Tuesday. As the investigation into 11-month-old Lisa's disappearance continues into a second week, the inconsistencies in the parents' accounts of what happened are piling up and casting suspicion their way.

    * The Irwins have a black lab as a pet who was on the porch on the night Lisa was reported missing. Bradley denied the dog barked that night. But she acknowledged in an interview the dog would have barked if there had been noise, if something out of the ordinary had happened or if there was someone she didn't know present. With dogs tending to be protective, the absence of barking casts doubt on the claim a stranger broke into the Irwin home.

    * The last time Bradley saw Lisa was when she put her to bed at 10:30 p.m., she says. "I just changed her, you know, put fresh clothes on her, and get her ready for bed." Yet the baby disappeared while wearing purple shorts and a purple top with white kittens on it. Why would Bradley have changed a baby who was going to bed for the night into shorts and a shirt rather than pajamas?

    * In another interview, Bradley said Lisa went to bed first and the boys later; the boys are 6 and 8 and it was a school night. Yet the boys went to bed subsequent to 10:30 p.m.?

    * Police asked the Irwins to make a list of anyone who could have been responsible for Lisa's disappearance. When asked in an interview by Judge Jeanine Pirro, "How did you pick these names," Jeremy Irwin answered, "Anybody. People who have been in the house. People that have had miscarriages lately. People who got divorces, cheating on their husb- (he stopped himself; his wife shook her head "no"). Irwin's mention of people getting divorces and cheating on their husbands has no logical nexus with a baby kidnapping and raises eyebrows.

    * Lisa Irwin went to bed with a cold and cough. Bradley claims to have slept in her own room with another child and a stray cat in her bed, her bedroom door shut. This is an unusual choice for a mother with a sick baby. In an interview Sunday, Bradley says she had a baby monitor operating that night. Yet she, like the dog, heard nothing when a stranger allegedly entered her baby's bedroom and removed her baby.

    * Irwin and Bradley suggested a window in an adjacent room as a point of entry, saying the screen had been tampered with. A police re-enactment showed the window to be an unlikely -- almost impossible -- point of quiet entry. It's hard to access and the screen was not fully removed, tying the intruder theory to the improbable scenario that a kidnapper took time to put the screen back in the window after entering the house. Who tampered with the screen and why?

    * The couple claims an intruder took their three cellphones at the same time as taking the baby, delaying their call to 911. Yet they admitted to Judge Jeanine that Jeremy had a functioning work phone he ultimately used to call 911.

He's an electrician working at night? I don't know any electrician who does that. It could be my lack of knowledge but the electricians I know all work during the daytime.
      • misty june 5 mths ago
sorry, the electrician thing was mentioned in another article about this poor baby
    • Sandee  •  7 mths ago
They have to rule out the family members first, if their dog didn't bark then no stranger did it or some maybe someone they knew, but come on, most of the time when a baby is killed or made to look like a kidnapping it isnt't very un common for one of the parents to have done this, it is a shame, If people do not want their kids after they have the for some reason, why not put them up for adoption instead of murder??????? Maybe the parents ahve nothing to do with it but in the past alot of mothers, mothers boyfriends, have killed their kids, babies
I hope they find this little girl alive and well
      • A Yahoo! User 7 mths ago
I agree Sandee with your points, however in this case I think (and I hope I'm wrong) it was an accidental death somehow, caused by the parents. OD on cold medicine, shaken baby, or something like that, and they made this story up to not go to jail....which of course is retarded. I really really hope I'm wrong, and they find her alive as well.

My theory is that mom gave baby Lisa too much cold medication, baby died and she panicked. this mom doesn't look grief stricken, she looks nervous and scared. Where is their support network of friends and family, co-workers? It would seem something isn't right with these folks...meanwhile Lisa's dad keeps his hands in his pockets almost all the time and looks like he has something to say but isn't allowed to...poor baby probably down the river now.
    • Micki  •  7 mths ago
The parents are using the same story that was used by Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin when little Hailey Cummings "disappeared" from her home in the middle of the night. Ron and Misty are serving lengthy prison terms and little Hailey has never been found. I sure hope that's not the case here; I hope Lisa is found and the responsible party is punished to the fullest extent of the law. In my heart I don't believe Lisa will be coming home alive. :-(
      • Josie 7 mths ago
Ronald was proven to have been at work. He is in jail for selling drugs, had nothing to do with the disappearance of his daughter. Ronald and Misty were both selling drugs to an undercover cop and got busted!
Even though this dad was also proven to have been at work, this one is a little different. However, I agree with you that I don't believe Lisa will be coming home alive!
    • A Yahoo! User  •  7 mths ago
I would like to believe them but my prayers are where ever the child is and I pray she is safe and not suffering. Whom ever responsible should be punished to the full extent of the law.

Parents not cooperating, not allowing an interview with siblings. Am I the only person that is beginning to think of this as being a hoax? A publicity stunt? Remember the balloon boy and his parents?
    • KLM  •  7 mths ago
I think BOTH parents need to be looked at more closely. I also think the mother is about as innocent as Casey Anthony is (NOT).
    • kate  •  7 mths ago
Both of my daughters have pj's that are shorts and a matching top...so, the clothing instead of pj theory is kinda questionable, since the purple shorts and top with kittens could have been a pajama set. This article also leaves out that there is footage of the mom buying wine with an unidentified man just hours before this went down (on a night her boyfriend was to be away at work). The husband's face during the interviews he's done, combined with the "divorces..cheating" comment seem really suspicious. And, sorry...but if my kid was missing and I couldn't find the phone...I'd be out the door to a neighbors house in an instant!
      • Natasha 7 mths ago
I believe police questioned that man and said he was cleared of suspision. I do agreen on the pjs and the phone thing - how f&^*ing long does it take to run to the neighbor to make a phone call?
      • Gossiper 7 mths ago
Dog thing means nothing, and PJ's - I like putting my daughter in shorts for bed
nothing to out of the norm there, not saying she didn't do something wrong?

oh but don't you want to know why the parents did it? do you? do you?
      • Barb 7 mths ago
I want to know, but what I want it to be is that the child is safe.
    • lasmar1  •  7 mths ago
Why doesn't it cross anyone's mind that maybe the intruder, lets say for arguments sake there was one, TRIED to go in through the window, pushed in the screen, then decided it was too risky/difficult/noisy and tried the front door and it viola! it was unlocked!
    • .  •  7 mths ago
kidnapping isn't a common crime to begin with...but to break in a take a baby---take time to go through the house looking for cell phones (really? and trying to be unseen at the same time??) and replacing a screen in order to make a fast getaway--and dont make the dog bark.....seriously...if u broke into a home to kidnap a baby would you go through the house looking for phones??? a bad cover up to begin with.....
    • truthful  •  7 mths ago
They are responsible for whatever happened to their daughter. I'm getting sick of this #$%$ if you don't want your children, give them up to someone who does, stop killing the babies!
    • JET  •  7 mths ago
The dog didn't bark and the baby monitor didn't make a sound because it was someone that was already in the house... most likely Bradley's "guest".
    • Hapi  •  7 mths ago
The father looks like he is hiding something. I hope im wrong, but he just dont look like he is being completely truthful.
    • Jennifer  •  7 mths ago
Personally I believe that the parents have either killed the baby or accidently killed the baby and are covering it up. There have been some inconstincenies with their story from the start. When my daughter is sick, I leave my bedroom door opened so I can listen to her or hear her call me if she gets worse. Not to mention the fact that I am up constantly to check on her. Besides, I don't buy this use of a baby monitor. I have the same feeling I did with the whole Casey Anthony case. Something is not right with these parents and like it or not, it will be discovered that they did something to that poor child.
    • triv  •  7 mths ago
Guilty!!! The mom's tears are fake, perhaps the baby was up all night irritated with a cold crying all night, and the mom lost patience, and decided to "take care of her" before the husband went home, or perhaps the husband did something to the baby on the way to work.. I dont buy this typical bull, reminds me of the same crocodile tears from the other lady who drowned her kids.. Bull chit!!!
    • Christina  •  7 mths ago
About the t-shirt and shorts things instead of Pj's.. I put my baby girl in t-shirt and shorts to sleep in all the time. That doesn't mean anything. I do agree that an intruder will not replace a window screen, that is odd. This entire situation is odd, they need to find that man she was buying wine with. And 3 cell phones missing? that's odd too.. My heart is just breaking for the baby. Hope however did this, or whatever happens that the truth comes out and people are held accountable!
    • Elizabeth  •  7 mths ago
After reading this article, I think some of the questionable items are ridiculous...such as why the baby was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. Silly. How she was dressed doesn't indicate what happened to her in any way. Another one is that many, many parents have their small children, even ones with colds, in their own rooms trusting in baby monitors to let them know if they need them. Sometimes on the orders of a doctor. My youngest son had to sleep in a "Danny Sling" due to being premature and with reflux. There was NO WAY he could NOT sleep in his bed because of the angle the mattress had to be at and him being in the sling, so assuming that she is lying because she didn't have the baby with her when the baby had a cold is just silly.

It gets me how many people are ready to convict and condemn these parents on slips of the toungue or small evidence. I do agree, however, that it does sound more and more (and I suspected from the start) as not a stranger kidnapping, but one done by someone they are aquainted with.
    • Travis  •  7 mths ago
Sadly, the parents stories are conflicting with one another. Their story line is inconsistent and the answers they've given are suspiciously drawing attention to themselves as the true culprits. I hope I'm wrong. But you have to remember the mother failed a lie detector test, the boyfriend always hangs his down as if to say "I'm ashamed of myself" "I know what happened" but I'm not going to tell the police because I'll probably go to prison for the rest of my life.

Someone trying to gain entrance into a side window would have alerted the dog right away, especially since the dog is a guard dog known to bark at strangers and strange noises. A concerned parent would also not leave a sick child unattended with the mother's bedroom door shut even if she did have a baby monitor. And why didn't she hear the supposed "intruder" entering the bedroom and abducting the child through the baby monitor? It doesn't make sense. Also, what robber would roam through the house and gather up three cell phones while trying to abduct a baby? That in itself doesn't make any sense.

Hopefully the little girl will be found alive and unharmed. But I can't help but think the little girl won't be coming back and the parents know that already and are simply trying to cover for themselves for what could very well turn out to be either a murder or possibly an accidental killing in which the mother is just too ashamed to admit what happened, and consequently, is making up all kinds of stories and excuses hoping it won't be found out and that she and/or her boyfriend won't have to go to jail or prison which would separate her from her other two children possibly for years or even decades.
